What the journal is
Every Team 271 student can keep a private journal here. Over the seasons you write down what you did on the team, what you learned and what the team did for you. It is here to help you see how far you have come, and to help the team and Bay Shore STEAM Corporation (BS-STEAM), the nonprofit that supports the team, show families and sponsors what the team does for students, only as you allow.
- No sign-in: each journal has its own private link. A Lead Mentor makes your journal and hands you the link in person at a team meeting, or emails it to your parent or guardian. Links are never sent to students by email, chat or message.
- Who keeps it: BS-STEAM. Rich Varone and Bill Claiborne, the team's Lead Mentors, read the journals for BS-STEAM. They are stored with Cloudflare, which runs this page. This is BS-STEAM's page; the Bay Shore Union Free School District is not part of it.
- Your parent or guardian goes through the journal's first page with you before you start.
Open your journal
Open your journal with the link you were given. Lost it? Ask Rich Varone or Bill Claiborne at a team meeting, or have your parent or guardian write to Info@BS-STEAM.com, for a new one (the old link stops working).
Keep your link to yourself and your parent or guardian. Use your own device, and do not paste your link into chat apps or post it in a group chat.
